The Smartsensor HD is a non intrusive side fired radar system that is ideal for use when fixed to a portable/mobile power source unit or permanent fixed location on new or existing furniture.
As a congestion buster, this device is used for advanced warning of potential traffic congestion or queues via portable variable message signs (pVMS) or fixed variable message signs. The purpose is to inform the motorists and allow necessary preparation to plan alternative routes or make necessary changes in route.
As a Data Collection unit, the Smartsensor HD can again be fixed to our T25 mobile power source unit or permanent fixed location on new or existing furniture. Used on our road network in either scenario the device is ideal as a back up, when the existing MIDAS Loop system has been disconnected (due to works or incidents) or in the absence of any localised MIDAS system. It is particularly beneficial as it can communicate directly with an existing outstation. As such, the Smartsensor HD Data Collection system (when placed within a work zone environment) continues to allow the collection of data to take place.
